HOW DO I QUALIFY FOR THIS SERVICE?

There are no income, age, or health requirements. Placentia Yorba Meals on Wheels is dedicated to providing nutritious and affordable meals to those who are unable to shop for and prepare their own meals.


How much does this service cost?

As of January 1st, 2024, the cost for three meals delivered is $12.00 per day.


What if I can’t afford this service?

We are a private, non-profit 501(c) 3 Charitable Organization and rely entirely on private donations, corporate donations, fundraising and grants. We utilize these funds to subsidize the cost of meals for individuals who couldn’t otherwise afford our services.

Are there special menu options if I am on a restricted diet?

Placentia Yorba Meals on Wheels has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Community SeniorServ in Anaheim. An appealing variety of freshly prepared and packaged diabetic friendly meals are delivered daily to our office for distribution. Through Community SeniorServ, we also offer a modified diabetic lunch option.


Are there any days Meals on Wheels does not deliver?

We deliver meals Monday through Friday, 52 weeks a year. The only weekdays we don’t deliver are:

  • New Year’s Day

  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

  • President’s Day

  • Memorial Day

  • 4th of July

  • Labor Day

  • Veterans Day

  • Thanksgiving Day (and following Friday)

  • Christmas Day

  • Christmas Eve


How long do I need to commit to the Meals on Wheels service?

Many clients are short-term while they recover from an illness or hospital stay. Except for the initial pre-paid 10 day trial period, no further time commitment is required. It is just based on your need. For scheduling purposes, our office requires a few days’ notice to begin and end service.


How do I begin?

Simply call our office, (714) 524-5056, and request a no-obligation consultation. One of our highly qualified and caring office personnel will schedule a time to come and meet with you in your home. They will assess your needs with you and answer any questions you may have. You are welcome to include a friend or family member if they have an interest in learning more about the Meals on Wheel service that you are considering.
